Haji Uma Praises IPBA 2026, Values Awards for Employees and Caretakers as a Positive Step

Jakarta, dpd.go.id – Member of the House of Regional Representative of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) from Aceh, H. Sudirman, S.Sos., M.Sos., or better known as Haji Uma, expressed his appreciation for the 20th Annual Indonesia Property & Bank Award (IPBA) 2026 held by the Journalist Media Network (JMN) at the Mulia Senayan Hotel, Jakarta, Friday (28/8/2026).

Haji Uma believes that this year's IPBA has its own unique value because the appreciation given is not only targeted at companies, developers, and players in the property and banking industries, but also reaches workers and members of the community who have contributed to their environment.

In the IPBA 2026 series, 58 awards were given to companies, developers, projects, industry players and a number of figures. In addition, 60 Umrah tickets were given in a series of appreciation to the best subsidized housing developers, employees, mosque marbots and journalists.

"I see this as a very positive step. An award isn't just about the company or those in leadership positions. There are many employees behind it who work and contribute. When they also receive attention and appreciation, this is certainly something we should support," said Haji Uma.

He particularly appreciated the attention of the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, who emphasized that prizes for the best subsidized housing developers be given to company employees as a form of appreciation for their contributions and work.

According to Haji Uma, this policy conveys the message that successful housing development is the result of collaborative efforts, from developers and management to workers directly involved in the construction process on the ground.

"Sometimes we judge a company's success solely by its owners or leaders. But behind that success are the employees and workers who put in the work every day. So, when recognition is also given to them, I think it's a wonderful way to recognize their work and dedication," he said.

Haji Uma also welcomed the plan of the Minister of PKP to provide eight subsidized housing units at the IPBA next year to the best subsidized housing developers, which were then directed to be given to the developer's employees.

According to him, housing is one of the basic needs of society, so housing development programs must continue to be strengthened, especially in providing access to decent and affordable housing for low-income communities.

Haji Uma also expressed his support for the 3 Million Homes Program, one of the government's housing agendas. He hopes the program will run smoothly and provide adequate support and attention to Aceh, particularly in expanding access for low-income communities to decent and affordable housing.

"We also support the 3 Million Homes Program and hope its implementation runs smoothly in Aceh. Many of our people still need decent housing, so we hope Aceh will receive adequate attention and a portion of this program, including involving local developers so that the economic benefits are felt by the local community," said Haji Uma.

For Aceh itself, Haji Uma hopes the 3 Million Homes Program can also provide a solution for those in need of housing, especially those affected by the floods, who are still experiencing delays in obtaining housing. He believes the program can be an alternative to help expedite the housing needs of affected communities.

"For Aceh itself, this could be a solution amidst the ongoing delay in receiving housing after the floods. We hope the affected communities can receive assistance through the 3 Million Homes Program. We sincerely hope this can be an alternative to help people regain decent housing," said Haji Uma.

However, Haji Uma reminded that the acceleration of housing development must still be accompanied by supervision of building quality, product certainty and developer responsibility to consumers.

"This subsidized housing program is crucial because it addresses the need for affordable housing for the underprivileged. We certainly support its acceleration, but housing quality must also be a priority. We shouldn't focus solely on the number of projects built while neglecting quality and the rights of consumers," he stressed.

He hopes the government, banks, developers, and all stakeholders in the housing sector can continue to strengthen collaboration in supporting the provision of housing for the community.

Haji Uma also hopes that opportunities for regional developers will continue to be expanded so that housing development will not only flourish in large cities but will also impact economic growth and employment opportunities in various regions.

"The property industry isn't just about business. It encompasses societal needs, job opportunities, and economic activity. Therefore, the growth of this industry must provide broader benefits to the community," he said.

Haji Uma also congratulated all recipients of the IPBA 2026 award and hoped that the appreciation could be a motivation for industry players, workers and all parties involved to continue contributing to national development.

"Congratulations to all the award recipients. May this appreciation serve as encouragement to continue working, creating, and providing benefits to the community. We hope this spirit will be maintained, as success is more meaningful when its benefits and appreciation are also felt by those who have fought behind it," concluded Haji Uma.
