Rahmijati Jahja Voices Support for Increasing BSPS Assistance Following Community Feedback

23 June 2026 oleh admin

Gorontalo, dpd.go.id — DPD RI Member Rahmijati Jahja directly gathered community aspirations regarding the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program (BSPS) in Pone Village, West Limboto District, on Sunday (June 21, 2026). During the visit, she responded to residents’ calls for an increase in assistance funds, which they say no longer keep pace with rising construction material costs, in order to ensure access to decent and sustainable housing.

The BSPS program is one of the government's key initiatives to provide adequate housing for low-income communities. According to data from the Gorontalo Provincial Housing and Settlement Agency, the 2026 allocation for Gorontalo Regency totals 1,291 housing units, consisting of 211 units in Phase I, as well as 780 units and 300 housing units specifically designated for tuberculosis (TB) patients in Phase II, including 30 units in Pone Village.

Responding to residents’ concerns, Rahmijati Jahja stressed that the BSPS program deserves serious attention, as access to decent housing remains a major aspiration among the public. She noted that policy adjustments, including a review of assistance values, are necessary to ensure the program remains relevant to current conditions on the ground.

“All aspirations conveyed by the community will be documented and reported. Following this activity, we will meet with our team to prepare a report and submit it to the relevant ministry for further follow-up,” Rahmijati said.

She also encouraged residents to continue actively voicing the challenges they face, particularly those related to basic needs such as housing, agriculture, and livestock farming, so that these concerns can be advocated at the national level.

“God willing, we will continue to monitor and fight for all aspirations that reflect the needs of the community,” she said. The BSPS program in Gorontalo Regency forms part of the broader efforts consistently supported by Gorontalo Senator Rahmijati Jahja in her capacity as a member of Committee II of DPD RI, which oversees natural resources, infrastructure, and housing affairs, in support of improving public welfare.
