dpd.go.id – The Secretariat General of the House of Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) continues to strengthen a professional public service culture through enhancing human resource quality, inter-unit collaboration, effective communication, and the utilization of accurate data. These steps are considered the primary foundation for building public trust in the institution.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Bureau of Protocol, Public Relations, and Media of the Secretariat General of DPD RI, Mahyu Darma, when opening the Public Communication Forum in the Sriwijaya Room, DPD RI, on Wednesday (July 22). According to him, excellent service does not rely solely on systems or digital transformation, but also on the competence and professionalism of the apparatus executing it.
"Communication cannot be done alone. Collaboration and mutual support are needed so that organizational goals can be achieved," Mahyu said.
Mahyu emphasized that good communication must become a daily work culture. Mutual respect, friendliness, and effective coordination are believed to be capable of creating a conducive work environment while simultaneously improving the quality of service to the public.
In addition, he highlighted the importance of making accurate data the basis for every policy and information delivery. According to him, information that is not backed by valid data has the potential to generate incorrect decisions and diminish public trust.
"Data is the foundation of information. If the data we possess is inaccurate, then the information conveyed will also be wrong. Therefore, ensure that every piece of data provided to the public and to leadership is correct, complete, and accountable," he asserted.
He explained that high-quality public service rests on three main pillars: manpower, data, and information. All three must operate in an integrated manner so that services can meet community needs while supporting the organization's performance enhancement. Because of this, digital transformation must be accompanied by the strengthening of HR competence, integrity, service ethics, and good communication skills.
Closing his remarks, Mahyu invited all employees to build a positive, innovative, and collaborative mindset. He emphasized that every innovation must be grounded in accurate data to produce appropriate policies and reinforce public trust in the Secretariat General of DPD RI.
Meanwhile, Senior Associate Public Relations Officer (Pranata Humas Ahli Madya) Chandra Kirana explained that the Public Communication Forum serves not only as a means to disseminate service standards, but also as an evaluation forum to ensure optimal service implementation.
"Through this evaluation, we can identify various aspects that still need refinement so that the quality of service to delegates and the public continues to improve," Chandra said.
On the same occasion, the Head of Division of Public Relations and Complaint Facilitation Division, Nanang Agung Beny Ritanto, emphasized that coordination between the Secretariat General of DPD RI and DPD RI Members continues to be strengthened so that every visiting regional delegation receives optimal service. If a member is unable to attend due to parliamentary duties, the Secretariat General of DPD RI still receives the delegation and provides information regarding the duties, functions, and institutional role of DPD RI.
"Good coordination ensures that every delegation still receives the service and information they need, even if the DPD RI member cannot accept the visit directly," Nanang said.
