Meeting with the Chief of Staff of the Executive Office of the President, Bang Azran: The MBG Program is an Investment in the Nation's Human Resources; Politics Must Deliver Solutions and Unity

Jakarta, dpd.go.id - Achmad Azran, a member of the DPD RI/MPR RI representing the DKI Jakarta constituency, has expressed his support for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program as a strategic step by the government to develop the quality of human resources toward Indonesia Emas (Golden Indonesia) 2045.

The man familiarly known as Bang Azran views the MBG program not merely as social assistance, but as a long-term investment to cultivate a healthy, intelligent, and productive generation. This was conveyed by Bang Azran following a recent discussion with General Dudung Abdurachman in his capacity as the Chief of Staff of the Executive Office of the President (KSP) of the Republic of Indonesia. According to him, nutritional issues such as stunting and anemia remain serious challenges that must be addressed collectively.

“The Free Nutritious Meal Program is a major investment for the nation. Developed nations build their strength starting from the quality of human resources at an early age, and Indonesia is moving in that direction,” said Bang Azran in Jakarta, Tuesday (May 19, 2026).

He explained that nutritional quality directly influences learning capabilities, productivity, and future national competitiveness. Furthermore, the MBG program is also seen as a driver for the grassroots economy, as it involves the agricultural sector, micro, small, and medium food enterprises (MSMEs), livestock, fisheries, and local logistics distribution.

Bang Azran also emphasized the importance of local government involvement in the implementation and oversight of the MBG program to ensure it runs transparently and reaches the right targets.

“The Provincial Government must be present in the implementation and oversight of the MBG from upstream to downstream to prevent any undesirable occurrences. This presidential program is highly noble for the future of the nation's children, and it must not be misused by irresponsible individuals who could disrupt its progress,” he asserted.

He also deemed that the President made the right decision in appointing General Dudung Abdurachman as the Chief of Staff of the Executive Office of the President (KSP) to assist in overseeing and ensuring that the MBG program runs effectively, with discipline, and hits the target.

“Strong oversight is vital so that the benefits of this program are truly felt by the community and align with the government's grand objectives. The President has chosen the right person; I am confident this program will run well and right on target," he added.

Amid national political dynamics and global challenges, Bang Azran called on all elements of the nation to maintain unity and foster a political atmosphere that is calm and solution-oriented.

“Politics must serve as a space to deliver solutions, not commotion. Criticism may be voiced, but it must be objective, constructive, and always prioritize the interests of the people,” he said.

Bang Azran also reminded the younger generation to remain critical, smart, and not easily divided by provocations or negative narratives in the digital space.

“I believe Indonesia has a great future. With robust human resource development, maintained political stability, and collaboration among all national elements, Indonesia can become a developed country respected by the world,” Bang Azran concluded.(*)
