Jasin U. Dilo Ensures MBG Program Runs Optimally in Bone Bolango Regency

Gorontalo, dpd.go.id – Member of the House of Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) for the Electoral District of Gorontalo Province, Jasin U. Dilo, conducted a surprise inspection of the implementation of the Free Nutritional Meal Program (MBG) in several schools in Bone District, Bone Bolango Regency, Friday (17/07). The activity was carried out as part of the agenda of the Recess of Session Period V of Session Year 2025–2026 while also carrying out the DPD RI's supervisory function regarding the implementation of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health.

"The Free Nutritious Meal Program is a major national investment in preparing a healthy, intelligent, and competitive generation. Therefore, its implementation must strictly meet nutritional and hygienic standards and be well-targeted so that all students can optimally benefit from its benefits," said Jasin.

During the visit, the Senator from Gorontalo personally observed the food preparation process at several schools. Accompanied by educators and program managers, Jasin inspected the menus prepared for students, including the composition of side dishes, vegetables, and fruits, as well as the cleanliness of the food containers and their suitability for consumption before distribution to students.

According to Jasin, the success of the Free Nutritious Meal Program is measured not only by the number of beneficiaries, but also by the quality of the food received each day. Therefore, all stages of the program's implementation must be carried out according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), from raw material selection and processing to food distribution to schools.

He also focused on the governance of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG), which spearhead program implementation in the regions. He stated that service providers are responsible for ensuring that the food used is sourced from fresh, high-quality local produce, processed hygienically, and distributed on time to ensure the quality of the food is maintained when received by students.

"We must not let the government's good intentions to improve children's nutritional quality be hampered by weak governance. Every stage of service must be carried out according to standards so that the goals of the Free Nutritious Meal Program are truly achieved," he stressed.

In addition to overseeing the technical aspects of program implementation, Jasin also encouraged schools to continue educating students about the importance of consuming nutritious food in the school environment. He believes this practice not only maintains the quality of the food provided but also fosters healthy lifestyles from an early age.

All monitoring results obtained during the visit to Bone District will be compiled into a Problem Inventory List (DIM) for evaluation by Committee III of the House of Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI), along with relevant ministries and the National Nutrition Agency. The evaluation will cover aspects of the raw material supply chain, the feasibility of processing facilities, distribution effectiveness, and compliance with service standards.

"The findings we obtained in the field will provide important input for strengthening the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program nationally. The DPD RI will continue to carry out its oversight function to ensure this program truly provides tangible benefits to Indonesian children, including those in Gorontalo Province," Jasin explained.

Through direct field supervision, Jasin affirmed the DPD RI's commitment to supporting the success of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) as a national strategic program. He expressed his hope that the synergy between the central government, regional governments, program organizers, and educational institutions would continue to be strengthened so that the program could improve the nutritional quality of students and serve as a foundation for realizing a healthy, superior generation of Indonesians ready to embrace the Golden Indonesia 2045.
