Jakarta's 499th Anniversary, Bang Azran: Make Jakarta a Global City that is Advanced, Cultured, and Prosperous for the People

dpd.go.id Jakarta— In commemoration of the 499th Anniversary of the City of Jakarta, Member of the DPD RI/MPR RI and General Chair of FORKABI, Achmad Azran, who is familiarly called Bang Azran, conveyed his congratulations and great hopes for the future of Jakarta so that it continues to develop into a city that is advanced, modern, globally competitive, while still maintaining its cultural identity and siding with the community.

"Happy 499th Birthday to the City of Jakarta. Nearing five centuries, Jakarta is a testament to its long journey as a center of growth, diversity, and pride for the Indonesian nation. I hope Jakarta continues to progress toward becoming a global city that excels not only in development and economics, but also in bringing prosperity to all its citizens," said Bang Azran.

According to Bang Azran, Jakarta's transformation into a global city must be accompanied by improvements in the quality of life of its citizens through better public services, integrated transportation, a healthy environment, and the opening of wider economic opportunities for the younger generation and entrepreneurs.

As a Betawi community leader and General Chair of FORKABI, Bang Azran emphasized that Jakarta's progress must continue in line with the preservation of local culture and wisdom values.

"Jakarta is home to all the nation's children, but it also has historical and cultural roots that must be continuously preserved. Betawi culture, as the city's identity and heritage, must be continuously preserved to keep it alive amidst the currents of modernization and development," he said.

Bang Azran also invited all elements of society, government, the business world, community organizations, and the younger generation to strengthen the spirit of unity and collaboration in building a more inclusive, safe, comfortable, and sustainable Jakarta.

"The celebration of Jakarta's 499th anniversary must be a momentum to strengthen optimism and the spirit of togetherness. I am confident that with the cooperation of all elements of the nation, Jakarta will further advance as a center of economy, culture, innovation, and civilization that is able to compete at the world level without losing its identity," Bang Azran emphasized.

As Jakarta approaches its fifth century, Bang Azran hopes that the city will be able to become a role model for other cities in Indonesia in realizing development that is just, environmentally friendly, and oriented towards the welfare of the community.
