Serang, dpd.go.id – Member of the House of Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) from Banten Province, Habib Ali Alwi, has expressed his support for regional collaboration to ensure the success of the 2026 Economic Census. This support was demonstrated by his attendance at an event organized by BPS-Statistics Indonesia at the Governor's Pavilion, Banten Provincial Government Center, Serang, on Wednesday (April 29, 2026).

According to Habib, the 2026 Economic Census plays a vital role as the foundation for formulating policies based on accurate data. “The 2026 Economic Census is not just a statistical agenda, but a foundation for formulating policies based on real data. Therefore, synergy and collaboration from all parties are required so that the resulting data reflects the actual conditions on the ground,” he stated.

The Deputy Head of BPS RI, Donny Hari Budiutomo Harmadi, also noted that the 2026 Economic Census will be conducted simultaneously across Indonesia from May 1 to August 2026, involving hundreds of thousands of field officers.

“We are deploying approximately 251,000 census officers throughout Indonesia. They will work for three months to collect data on companies as well as household business activities, including those that are digital-based,” he explained.

Through this initiative, Habib Ali hopes to build a collective awareness regarding the importance of statistical data as the basis for targeted policy-making, while simultaneously driving sustainable regional economic growth, particularly in Banten.
