Jakarta, dpd.go.id - Member of The House of the Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) for the Electoral District of South Kalimantan, Muhammad Hidayattollah or familiarly known as Dayat.El, attended the 10th Plenary Session of the DPD RI for the V Session Period and also delivered a report on the results of absorbing the aspirations of the people of East Sub-Region I within the scope of duties of Committee I, Committee III, and BULD.
In his presentation, Dayat.El highlighted several strategic issues of local communities’ concern. Within Committee I, the community expressed concerns regarding spatial planning, weak oversight of land conversion, forest area conflicts, the decline in Village Funds, and the importance of strengthening village and underdeveloped region development.
In addition, the public also highlighted the certainty of the 2029 Election design, the professionalism of election organizers, the neutrality of ASN, and the protection and welfare of PPPK and regional ASN.
Meanwhile, within Committee III, Dayat.El conveyed community aspirations regarding strengthening the local culture-based creative economy and protecting regional cultural assets. Furthermore, migrant worker issues were also a concern, ranging from the prevalence of illegal recruitment, complex bureaucracy, to limited public access to official information.
Within the scope of BULD, the community also encourages harmonization of education regulations between the central and regional governments, equal distribution of teaching staff, and the effective use of the education budget of 20 percent of the regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD) so that it is right on target and its benefits are truly felt by the community.
Dayat.El also conveyed a number of strategic issues specific to South Kalimantan which he believes require serious attention and full support from the central government and the leadership of the DPD RI.
Some of these issues include accelerating the construction of the Riam Kiwa Dam in Banjar Regency as a solution to flood control, the construction of the Batang Alai Dam in Hulu Sungai Tengah to support the community's agricultural sector, and repairing national roads in South Kalimantan, which have been the subject of many public complaints.
Dayat.El also reiterated the importance of protecting the Meratus Forest through the #SaveMeratus campaign. He stated that the Meratus Forest is the natural heart of South Kalimantan and must be protected together for the sake of the environmental sustainability of Banua.
No less important, he also encouraged the acceleration of follow-up to the expansion of Tanah Kambatang Lima and Gambut Raya Regencies, which until now remains a great hope for the people in the region.
"The people's aspirations should not only be heard, but also fought for and realized through concrete steps for equitable development and regional welfare," said Dayat.El in the plenary session of the DPD RI.
By conveying these aspirations, Dayat.El hopes that various regional problems, especially in South Kalimantan, can become a shared concern and immediately receive real solutions from the central government and related stakeholders.
