South Aceh, dpd.go.id – Darwati A. Gani, a member of Committee IV of the House of the Regional Representative of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) from Aceh, emphasized the importance of strengthening oversight of Village Fund management to realize transparent, accountable village governance that has a real impact on community welfare. This was conveyed by Darwati when she was a resource person at the 2026 Village Financial Management and Development Evaluation Workshop held by the BPKP Aceh Representative Office at the Rumoh Agam Building, Tapaktuan, South Aceh Regency, Wednesday (22/7/2026). This activity was attended by 135 village heads throughout South Aceh Regency.
The workshop was opened by the Regent of South Aceh and featured speakers from DPD RI, the Aceh Provincial Office of the Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb), the Aceh Regional Treasury (DPMG), and the Aceh Representative Office of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP). The event aimed to strengthen transparent, accountable village financial governance, oriented toward improving community welfare.
In her presentation, titled "DPD RI Oversight of the Implementation of Laws, the State Budget, and Government Policies Related to Villages," Darwati explained that the DPD RI has a constitutional function to oversee the implementation of laws, the State Budget, and various government policies related to villages. The results of this oversight then serve as considerations and recommendations to the government for policy improvement.
According to Darwati, supervision must be understood as an instrument to ensure that every state policy and budget truly benefits the community, not simply to find errors in its implementation.
"Supervision is not about finding fault, but rather ensuring that every rupiah of Village Funds returns to the community in the form of quality development, improved public services, and increased welfare for village communities," Darwati said.
She added that Village Funds are a strategic instrument for accelerating development, reducing disparities between regions, and strengthening the village economy. Therefore, their management must be transparent, accountable, effective, efficient, and targeted. Darwati also encouraged village governments to continue improving the capacity of their apparatus, strengthening the digitalization of financial governance, increasing public information transparency, and involving the community in every stage of development, from planning and implementation to monitoring.
"Supervision must not stop at administrative compliance alone. More importantly, it ensures that every program and every rupiah of the budget has a real impact on village development and improving community welfare," she stressed.
On the same occasion, the Aceh Provincial DJPb Regional Office explained the distribution and accountability mechanisms for the 2026 Village Funds. Meanwhile, the Aceh Representative of the BPKP explained the strategy for overseeing village financial governance accountability as an effort to encourage village independence and community empowerment.
Through this activity, Darwati hopes to establish stronger synergy between the central government, regional governments, village governments, and all stakeholders in realizing transparent, accountable, and sustainable Village Fund governance so that its benefits can be felt in real terms by communities in all villages.
