Banda Aceh, dpd.go.id – Darwati A. Gani, a member of the House of the Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) from Aceh region, urged mothers to take a greater role in instilling national values within the family. She made the call during a socialization event on the Four Pillars of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) with the PKK (Family Welfare Movement) women of Bandar Baru Village, Kuta Alam District, Banda Aceh City, on Monday afternoon (March 16, 2026).

The event, held in the village, was enthusiastically attended by PKK administrators and members. Participants not only listened to the presentations but also engaged in discussions about the importance of strengthening national values in community life.

On that occasion, Darwati emphasized the crucial role families play in shaping the character of the younger generation. She argued that national education is not solely the responsibility of educational institutions or the state, but must also begin within the family environment.

"Women, especially mothers, play a very strategic role in instilling national values. Families produce generations with strong character, tolerance, and a love for their country," said Darwati.

Darwati explained that the Four Pillars of the MPR RI, which include Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, are the main foundations in the life of the nation and state.

According to Darwati, these values should not remain merely concepts but should serve as guidelines for everyday life. Therefore, she believes the family plays a crucial role as the first place for children to learn the values of unity, responsibility, and mutual respect.

She also assessed that the Aceh people have strong traditions of togetherness, such as the culture of cooperation and deliberation. These values, he said, align with the spirit of nationalism embodied in the Four Pillars of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR RI).

"I hope the PKK mothers can be the driving force in instilling national values within the family. If the spirit of unity grows strong within the family, society will become more united, and this nation will be stronger in facing the various challenges ahead," Darwati concluded.

Through these activities, it is hoped that the public's understanding of the Four Pillars of the MPR RI will be strengthened so that national values can continue to live and be practiced in everyday life, especially in the family environment, as the main foundation for maintaining the unity and integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
