Appointed as The Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Minang Family Association (DPP IKM), Sultan: Must Be Solid and Impactful

Jakarta, dpd.go.id – The Speaker of the House of Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI), Sultan Baktiar Najamudin, has encouraged the Minang Family Association (Ikatan Keluarga Minang or IKM) to remain united in overseeing the realization of government programs to ensure they impact national economic growth. This was stated by Sultan when he was appointed as the Chairman of the Advisory Board by the Chairman of the IKM Central L Board (DPP), Andre Rosiade, at the Nusantara V Hall, Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday (April 11). According to Sultan, IKM possesses a vast and established structural network reaching the remote corners of the country. He noted that it is the moral responsibility of the IKM family to build national economic resilience amidst the current geopolitical crisis challenges. "First, we would like to congratulate the newly inaugurated leadership of the IKM Central Executive Board under the leadership of Uda Andre Rosiade. He is one of the experienced, capable, and widely recognized Minang national figures," Sultan stated during a press briefing. Sultan added that the extensive diaspora of the Minangkabau people, which reaches abroad, serves as a significant social node in nation-building and maintaining national unity. "The socio-economic potential of the Minang family—who are predominantly involved in the trade and industry sectors—is a vital link in the national development agenda. This solid social energy must be directed appropriately to make a real contribution to national development," Sultan said. Based on reports, the inauguration ceremony of the IKM Central Executive Board was attended by the Senator from West Sumatra, Irman Gusman; the Minister of Manpower, Yasirlie; and the Head of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Doni Oskaria. Additionally, several regional heads from West Sumatra and hundreds of IKM regional officials from across Indonesia were also in attendance.
