Amid Growing Misinformation, H. Jasin U. Dilo Advocates the Four Pillars and Boosts Local MSME (UMKM) Development in Dulalowo

Gorontalo, dpd.go.id — MPR RI and DPD RI Member H. Jasin U. Dilo conducted a Socialization of the Four Pillars of MPR RI in Dulalowo Subdistrict, Kota Tengah District, Gorontalo City, on Monday (June 22, 2026), as part of efforts to strengthen public understanding of national values while addressing economic challenges and the rapid flow of information in the digital era.

The event, held at 26 Jakarta I Street, Dulalowo Subdistrict, was attended by approximately 150 residents and featured an interactive discussion covering issues closely related to daily life, including MSME development, social harmony, and the growing spread of misinformation.

During the event, H. Jasin U. Dilo emphasized that the values embodied in the Four Pillars of MPR RI must be translated into concrete action, particularly in strengthening grassroots economic resilience and maintaining harmony amid Indonesia’s diversity.

“As a regional representative, I continue to advocate for regulations that facilitate MSME growth, including access to financing and digital training. At the community level, however, one of the most tangible forms of patriotism today is taking pride in purchasing and using products made by our own neighbors,” he said.

He also urged the public to exercise greater caution in navigating the increasingly fast-paced flow of information, especially content that could trigger social division.

“Today, threats to the unity of the Republic of Indonesia no longer come from armed colonizers, but from divisive information. The principle is simple: verify before you share. If you receive provocative content that incites hatred based on ethnicity, religion, race, or intergroup differences, stop it with you—do not help spread it,” he stressed.

The event also generated several recommendations, including the need for creative digital approaches to engage younger generations, as well as strengthening the role of neighborhood leaders (RT/RW), local government officials, and religious figures as the frontline defenders of social cohesion and the fight against misinformation.

Through this socialization program, residents are expected to gain a deeper understanding of and commitment to Indonesia’s national values, while also contributing to the strengthening of local economies and the preservation of social harmony amid the dynamics of urban life.
