Jakarta, dpd.go.id — Member of Committee I of the House of Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI), Ade Yuliasih, expressed her support for the formation of New Autonomous Region Candidates (CDOB) of Luwu Raya and Nias. She emphasized the importance of fulfilling basic requirements during an audience meeting with the Working Body on the Formation of New Autonomous Regions (DOB) at the DPD RI Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (30/03/2026).
As a member of the DPD RI representing Banten—a province that was itself formed through expansion from West Java—Ade Yuliasih emphasized that the creation of a New Autonomous Region Candidates (CDOB) must achived key requirements as an administrative foundation.
“The primary requirement is obtaining recommendations from the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) and the parent province. This is absolutely essential as it constitutes the basic requirement that must be met,” she asserted.
Ade also added that the process of forming a new autonomous region must strictly follow applicable legal stages, even though it cannot be separated from political dynamics. “Regarding the Government Regulation (PP), this is a legal product, and law itself is a product of politics. Therefore, in addition to meeting administrative requirements, I believe political lobbying also needs to be strengthened,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Committee I of the DPD RI, Andi Sofyan Hasdam, emphasized that the issue of forming new autonomous regions is one of the DPD RI's top priorities and will continue to be championed at the central government level. “We always emphasize the issue of DOB (New Autonomous Regions) because this is our primary duty in the DPD RI. We will follow up on everything you have presented today,” he stated.
He also mentioned that the DPD RI plans to schedule a meeting with the President in the near future to convey various regional aspirations, including those regarding the formation of the New Autonomous Region Candidates discussed today.
