These Are the 23 Candidates for BPK RI Members to Undergo Fit and Proper Test at DPD RI Committee IV

Jakarta, dpd.go.id — Committee IV of the House of Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) will conduct a fit and proper test for 23 candidates for membership of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK RI) for the 2026–2031 term. The names of the candidates were submitted to the DPD RI on August 31 by the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) through Letter No. R/10568/PVW.02/8/2026, signed by DPR RI Speaker Puan Maharani. Prior to this, Commission XI of the DPR RI had conducted the registration, administrative screening, and public assessment processes.

“The fit and proper test at Committee IV will be conducted in mid-September,” said Ahmad Nawardi, Chair of Committee IV of the DPD RI, on September 7, 2026.

Before conducting the fit and proper test, Committee IV is still giving the public in the regions an opportunity to submit input, views, opinions, and aspirations regarding the track records and integrity of the 23 BPK RI candidates.

In conducting the assessment, the DPD RI will focus on the candidates’ integrity, technical capabilities, professional track records, and understanding of state financial governance, including fiscal decentralization and the oversight of transfers to regional governments (TKD).

The East Java senator who received the highest number of votes said the composition of the 23 candidates for BPK RI membership for the 2026–2031 term reflects a diverse range of professional backgrounds. The candidates include an incumbent BPK member, principal expert auditors, associate expert auditors, and civil servants within the BPK. There are also figures from other oversight institutions, such as the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, bringing perspectives on oversight, corruption prevention, and regulatory development in state governance.

The diversity is also reflected in the presence of academics, public-sector practitioners, and private-sector professionals. Among the candidates are professors from prominent universities, lawyers, senior ministry officials, independent commissioners at a state-owned energy company, auditors at state financial institutions, as well as executives at insurance and financial technology companies.

This diverse range of backgrounds is expected to provide a more comprehensive audit perspective, covering not only technical financial aspects but also cross-sector dynamics in strategic areas such as forestry, energy, oil and gas, the digital economy, and social security institutions.
