Amid the momentum of celebrating the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, Angelius Wake Kako, S.Pd., M.Si (First Vice Chair of Committee II of the DPD RI representing the Electoral District of East Nusa Tenggara) visited communities in earthquake-affected areas to observe firsthand the residents' conditions, the extent of the damage, and the urgent needs for emergency response and recovery efforts. Relief assistance from DPD RI was distributed across several regions in Sikka Regency, Ende Regency, and Nagekeo Regency.

This visit serves as an expression of care and solidarity toward communities facing difficult times. The aspirations, concerns, and needs of the public are vital priorities to be forwarded to the government, ensuring disaster management is carried out rapidly, accurately, and sustainably.

Independence is not only about commemorating past struggles, but also about ensuring that every citizen receives protection, care, and the opportunity to recover from disaster.

From the affected regions, we rise together. Indonesia is strong because its people support one another.
