Jakarta, dpd.go.id — The House of the Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) has decided to submit its considerations for 10 candidates for the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) for the 2026–2031 term to the House of Representatives (DPR) for consideration in the selection process for two BPK members to fill vacant positions. The DPD made the decision during the 3rd Extraordinary Plenary Session of the 2026–2027 Session Year I at the Nusantara V Building, Jakarta, on Thursday (1/10/2026).
Vice Speaker of the DPD RI, Tamsil Linrung, said that considering prospective BPK members is part of the DPD RI's constitutional function in selecting BPK members. Based on Article 23F Paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution, BPK members are selected by the DPR by taking into account the considerations of the DPD RI and are inaugurated by the President. This provision is also emphasized in the Law on the MPR, DPR, DPD, and DPRD, the Law on the BPK, and the DPD RI Regulation on Rules of Procedure.
"The House of Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) provided considerations as part of its regional representation function in the selection process for members of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). These considerations are expected to serve as input for the DPR in determining BPK members for the 2026–2031 period," Tamsil said during the session, which was co-chaired by Deputy Speakers of the DPD GKR Hemas and Yorrys Raweyai.
According to Tamsil, the selection process for BPK members is crucial because the BPK plays a strategic role in ensuring that state financial management and accountability are transparent, accountable, and in accordance with statutory provisions. Therefore, the DPD RI hopes that the elected BPK members have sufficient capacity to carry out this mandate.
"The DPD RI considers it important that the elected members of the BPK RI possess integrity, independence, professionalism, and competence, as well as be able to carry out audit duties objectively and provide constructive recommendations for improving state financial governance," said Tamsil.
He emphasized that the quality of the BPK's audits goes beyond identifying problems in state financial management. The resulting recommendations are also expected to serve as an instrument for improving governance, making state financial management more accountable and providing benefits to the public and regions.
"The DPD RI's considerations are expected to contribute to producing trustworthy and professional members of the BPK RI, while also strengthening accountability in managing state finances for the benefit of the community and the region," he said.
Regarding the consideration process, Chairperson of Committee IV of the DPD RI, Ahmad Nawardi, explained that the DPD RI previously received 23 names of prospective members of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK RI) from the House of Representatives (DPR RI) to participate in the selection process. All candidates then underwent a fit and proper test conducted by Committee IV of the DPD RI on September 26–27, 2026.
Nawardi said the assessment process was carried out by considering five main aspects, namely competence regarding the duties and functions of the BPK RI, understanding of the relationship and synergy between the BPK RI and the DPD RI, integrity and commitment, vision and mission, as well as the candidate's experience and leadership.
"Based on the results of the fit and proper test, Committee IV has determined 10 candidates recommended to fill two positions as members of the Indonesian Audit Board (BPK RI) for the 2026–2031 period," said Ahmad Nawardi.
Based on the ranking, Nawardi continued, the ten names are Nyoman Adhi Suryadnyana, Khaidir Abdurrahman, Agung Nur Prabohudono, Diana, Asep Rahmat Suwandha, Iggi Haruman Achsien, Martuama Saragi, A. Iskandar Zulkarnain, Bunyamin, and Sapta Haryana.
