Batam, dpd.go.id - DPD RI member Ismeth Abdullah visited residents of the Prima Garden Housing Complex, RT.02, RW.13, Tanjung Uncang Subdistrict, Batu Aji District, Batam City, Tuesday, 4:00 PM WIB (13/10/2026).

Upon arriving at the recess location, DPD RI Member Ismeth Abdullah was warmly greeted by the gathered residents.

"It is a matter of pride for us, the residents of Perum. Prima Garden, to meet directly with a prominent figure in the Riau Islands whom we are proud of, the former Chairman of the Batam Authority and the First Governor of the Riau Islands. May Mr. Ismeth Abdullah always be given health, blessings, and smooth running in carrying out his activities," said Borkat Siregar as Chairman of RW.13 in his remarks.

Meanwhile, DPD RI Member Ismeth Abdullah, in his speech, emphasized the explanation of the functions and duties as a DPD RI member.

He also urged residents of the Prima Garden Housing Complex to use this recess opportunity to voice their concerns regarding existing issues.

"Currently, the DPD RI together with the DPR RI are drafting and fighting for the Archipelagic Region Law. Hopefully, the Archipelagic Region Law can be realized so that the Archipelagic Provinces can be more prosperous and develop their regions," explained Ismeth Abdullah.

"So, take advantage of this recess opportunity to convey your aspirations regarding existing problems," said Ismeth Abdullah.

During the question-and-answer session, Endang, one of the women's representatives, expressed her aspirations regarding UWTO payments, hoping that the government could make UWTO extensions free, specifically for housing.

He also expressed complaints regarding the Desil program, whose data is currently still unclear or does not match the actual data from the community's conditions. Endang also expressed his hope that the government would prioritize employment opportunities for the community.

Responding to the aspirations of Prima Garden residents, DPD RI member Ismeth Abdullah stated that their aspirations and complaints would be followed up.

"We will follow up on the aspirations of the people. If it concerns central government policy, we will communicate with the central government and hold a meeting with Committee I of the House of Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesial (DPD RI). If it concerns regional policy, we will directly coordinate with the Governor or Mayor," Ismeth Abdullah concluded. (*)
